What should I do if liquid has spilt on my computer? - Faculty & Staff

If your computer has experienced liquid damage, please immediately turn off and unplug the computer before bringing it to the Helpdesk. If you are unable to bring the device to the Technology department right away, the computer should remain off and unplugged and should be wiped dry with a cloth and turned upside down to remove as much water as possible. A helpdesk ticket should then be submitted from another device as soon as possible.

Never use rice, a blow dryer, or any item other then a dry cloth on your computer as it could cause additional damage to your device.
